“We become what we behold. We shape
our tools and then our tools shape us.”
Okay, Mc Luhan was a visionary. He didn’t have a laptop :-).
The only suitable comment here would be a philosophical/scientific essay of considerable length.
Especially if one questions the definition of “tools”.
What’s a man without tools? An animal? Is our brain a tool? Aso.
No time. I’m not going to march backwards into the future.
(Since M. returned to Poland with all his tools – piano, synths, sound installation…- a poor Tascam has to reshape part of me who cannot sing, hmm)
What if the medium weren’t THAT important, nor the message, but something else difficult to grasp and impossible to explain?
“What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare his deadly terrors clasp?”
